The Snowy World of Willustrating

Writer: willustratingwillustrating

The day has come, snowy scenery prints are now available to buy in my Etsy store!

There are two 10x12 prints, one 5x7 print and a pack of three postcard sized prints.

These prints accompany a small event my team and I are putting together for the beginning of january in Virginia where I'll be showing a few originals.

These prints are of some of my personal favourite drawings from over the years, I drew the originals with inspiration from Colorado, Canada, France and Switzerland, and have since made many more for commission as well as myself, I have two of my snowy scenes hanging in my studio and I love them.

This piece, of which I have drawn three versions since, is my personal favourite. It's been my Twitter header for the last six years and serves to remind myself that I can actually make really nice pieces of art when I put my mind to it. The white of the paper filling up every piece of the page creates a silent stillness that transports you to the mountain side, it's a piece I can get lost in. It's one of the two available in the biggest print size I've ever done, at 10x12, a perfect size for framing, I suggest a large frame with a wide aperture.

This is the second piece that comes in the 10x12 size, the perfect piece to complete a diptych. Depicting a trail in the snow, this piece once again uses its size and the white of the paper to pull you in to the ambience it displays. Let your eye follow the path into the trees and you'll instantly be wanting to book a trip somewhere cold, just to see where it could lead.

As part of this collection, we have a solo 5x7 piece, another firm favourite from the beginning, this has too spurned several redrawings since the day the original was completed, one of which being on my own wall and that of my grandma's.

A dynamic portrait of the hillside in the background and the viewer in the foreground, looking out toward the high ground and into the valley below.

We wrap the collection up with a postcard triptych, a set of three snowy cabin scenes.

The piles of snow gathering on the rooves of these hillside cabins are a whimsical reminder of the elements and their strength, snowed in and freezing cold, these little hideaways are depicted in a lush snowy backdrop that's a joy to behold.
